Cameron Harvey Receives Honorable Mention for the StatSheet Ohio Valley Freshman of the Week - December 31st, 2012

Patrick Miller from Tennessee State has won StatSheet's Ohio Valley Player of the Week for December 31st. Chris Horton from Austin Peay has won StatSheet's Ohio Valley Freshman of the Week. And last but certainly not least, Morehead State's Maurice Lewis-Briggs has taken StatSheet's Ohio Valley 6th Man of the Week.

Miller led the all of the Ohio Valley in scoring (28.0 pts per game) and free throws (11.0 per game). He also had great stats in rebounding (4 per game), shooting (90%), and three pointers (3 per game). The Tennessee State junior played well for the Tigers in a win against Eastern Illinois.

This is the first StatSheet Ohio Valley Player of the Week award for Patrick Miller. The runner-up this week is Southeast Missouri State junior Tyler Stone. Honorable mention goes to Eastern Kentucky junior Glenn Cosey.

StatSheet Ohio Valley Freshman of the Week: Austin Peay's Chris Horton

Chris Horton averaged 22 minutes as a starter for Austin Peay. He led all Ohio Valley freshmen in scoring (7.5 pts per game), rebounding (5.5 per game), and assists (2.0 per game). In an 84-77 loss to Utah Valley University, Horton chalked up 2 rebounds and 3 assists. In a 76-74 loss to High Point, he led all rebounding with 9 added 6 blocked shots.

This is a first for Chris Horton, who has never won the StatSheet Ohio Valley Freshman of the Week. The runner-up is Anthony Morse from Tennessee Tech. Our own Cameron Harvey receives honorable mention.

StatSheet Ohio Valley 6th Man of the Week: Morehead State's Maurice Lewis-Briggs

Junior Maurice Lewis-Briggs, a 6-8 reserve forward, averaged 15 minutes of action over two games for the Eagles. In a 94-58 loss to Southern Miss, Lewis-Briggs put up 8 points and 5 rebounds. After that, in a strong 114-67 win over Union, he racked up 5 rebounds and 2 assists.

This is the second StatSheet Ohio Valley 6th Man of the Week award for Maurice Lewis-Briggs. Corey Walden, a sophomore guard from Eastern Kentucky, is runner up. Tobias Dowdell, a sophomore forward from Tennessee-Martin, receives honorable mention. Eastern Illinois has yet to win StatSheet Ohio Valley Player of the Week.
